		The Naukri .com Job Index plunged by 3.9% in October '09 as compared to September '09 due to seasonality and festivals. Overall highlights of the report 3.9% decline in hiring activity: Job Index at 701 indicates a decline in hiring activity in October '09 as compared to 729 in September '09 Hiring up in 5 out of top 8 cities: Chennai, Bangalore, Delhi-NCR, Kolkata and Hyderabad saw an increase in hiring activity, while Mumbai and Pune saw a dip in October '09 as compared to September '09 ITES/BPO witnessed an upward trend in hiring activity: ITES/ BPO, Banking, Oil & Gas and Healthcare sectors saw an increase in hiring trend in October '09 as compared to September '09 IT Software and Hardware saw a slight dip: Both IT-Software and Hardware sectors saw a drop in hiring activity by 2% and 4.4% respectively in October '09 as compared to September '09 Demand for Pharma and Healthcare Professionals rises: Demand for professionals in the Pharma/Healtchare and ITES/BPO sectors grew by 13% and 4% respectively in October '09 as compared to September '09
